pregnant vs werewolf loved it as usual!!

o.k. so the blurb didn't mention male pregnancy. i happen to LIKE male pregnancy stories. in case someone missed it, this is called fiction! if you don't like male pregnancy because its not possible, what about the werewolf part?? duh! i only have a complaint about the length of the story. i didn't want it to end....keep pouring out the books stormy!!! faster, faster.

Meet the Loup-Garou

Stormy Glenn starts a new series here in a universe different from her previous ones. Here, the Loup-Garou (werewolves) have different laws they live by and are governed by the Senate. One of those laws is that being gay is punishable by death. Another one is that Omegas (a special type of werewolf) shall be put to death for being rogue and a danger to the rest. In the intro to this series, Matty finds out after a brief fling with a man he really enjoyed that he is, quite unbelievably, pregnant. Welcome to the world of the Loup-Garou.

Matty is a human Omega. His one-night stand (Rico) happened to be his mate (hence the strong attraction to each other), which is why he got pregnant (Omegas only get pregnant from their mate). Not knowing Matty was his mate, Rico left so he wouldn't endanger Matty, rightfully figuring that the Senate wouldn't be interested in enforcing their laws on humans, only the werewolves. But when Matty got the tests done at the local clinic where members of the Senate work, they realized Matty is Omega and must be killed. Drawn into this world where he has a contract on his head, Matty and Rico must stay on the run to keep alive, all the while dealing with Matty's pregnancy and surfacing powers (yes, Omegas have special abilities).

First what I don't like.... I'm not crazy about male pregnancy stories. They just don't do it for me. I just can't imagine the biology needed for a man to get pregnant. I tend to tolerate that aspect of this genre when it happens. It's not all bad as I sometimes find it can add humor, but I generally feel ambivalent at best towards the concept.

Now the good.... Stormy Glenn does a nice job putting together a story and developing characters. There's good action, nice suspense, and interesting characters. The newly-imagined world offers something different as it fully breaks away from her other series, so it's always nice to have a different universe you can immerse yourself in. The series title of "Wolf Haven" will become apparent in the 2nd installment of the series. In this first one, the universe is created and the settings defined. It's a nice start to an interesting series, and if you like Stormy Glenn, you should enjoy this too.

Great start to the series

This is the story of Matty and Rico. Rico is a wolf. Matty kinda-sorta had sex with him one night and ended up...in unforeseen circumstances. Now they're on the run from the Loup-Garou, a band of shifters that have deemed being gay cause for death.

This is a great start to a new series. The shifters are different than the other things I've ready from Ms. Glenn, and if you like shifters as much as I do, you're going to be in for a treat with these folks.
